Betty Walsh Jewellery boasts colour and unique 3D shapes. The Perth jeweller designs and works with materials that does not follow all the conventions of jewellery production. She uses sterling silver, yellow gold, freshwater pearls, cubic zirconas and diamonds.
"Given the process of creating a piece from more industrial materials can be dirty and quite engineered, I find it exciting to see vibrant, almost delicate end products."
Inspiration from Betty's work is derived from some diverse aspects of her life experiences. the ruggedness of the Pilbara are combined with the exhilaration, energy and the sometimes tranquility of offshore sailing.
'Diamonds in the Sea' is a series of work inspired by the water phosphorescence Betty sailed through in the waters of Southern Indonesia. The work is reminiscent of thousands of diamonds sparkling across the water.
